Latest Taygetis barcode tree

BOLD tree_ January 2012

Latest NJ tree of the publicly accessible COI barcodes for Taygetis on http://boldsystems.org/

Things of note in this tree:

1) The slight variation between the ACG (SRNP specimen numbers) and Yucatan (MAL specimen numbers) T. laches.

2) The mixed cluster of T. sylvia and T. sosis from Panama (YB specimen codes).

3) The ACG T. rufomarginata and Yucatan T. virgilia have slight variation but seem to be the same species, in contrast to the NSG T. rufomarginata (see earlier posting - http://taygetis.myspecies.info/content/taygetis-virgilia-versus-taygetis...), which are clearly another species. But which is the T. virgilia and which T. rufomarginata?

4) There is quite a bit of variation in the ACG T. mermeria, possibly indicative of hidden diversity in there?

Will be interesting to see how this tree looks after the next taxonomy update on BOLD and the next batch of sequences are fetched from GenBank.
